          Youth empowerment is a process where children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their lives. They do this by addressing their situation and then take action in order to improve their access to resources and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values and attitude.

          The important of skill acquisition cannot be overemphasized. This importance includes self-employment, diverse job opportunities, employment generation, effective function and crime reduction. The truth remain that the major causes of the unemployed among the vibrant youth of this nation is lack of skills to back up what they learnt from their various institutions of learning. It is a known fact that the country is faced with unemployment challenge which is why there is serious need for skills acquisition.

          Since the youth are seen as the leaders of tomorrow, then their future should be paramount and secure. This is why we (Mirian Foundation) have decided to take the responsibility of empowering the youth through skill acquisition.
