The corona virus pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since the World War II. Since its emergence in Asia late last year, the virus has spread to some continent. Cases are rising daily in Africa, America, and Europe. The pandemic is moving like a wave, one that may yet crash on those least able to cope. But the COVID-19 is much more that a health crisis. By stressing every one of the countries it touches, it has the potential to create devastating social, economic and political crisis that will leave deep scars.

Over one million people around the world have been infected. On the other hand, the spread of novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria continue to record significant increases as the latest statistics provided by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reveal Nigeria now has 30,249 confirm cases.

Mirian Pat Foundation in her goal to mitigate the effect of covid-19 conducted an outreach to sensitize the people of Gossa on Coronavirus disease, and also shared “not for sale” face masks, hand sanitizers and cooked food for the less privileged in Gossa community. Our special guest of honor, the Director of Persons with Disabilities, (name) while addressing the people urges them to continue to maintain personal hygiene measures and social distancing. In a bid to support the community, MPF worked in line with the N0 2 and 8 Sustainable Development Goals which is, Zero Hunger and Decent work and Economic Growth respectively.
