Nigeria is one of many food deficient countries in Africa, and its alarming hunger statistics are tired with high level of conflict that have plague region surrounding Nigeria for years. The number of people battling acute hunger and suffering from malnutrition is on the rise yet again.
The corona pandemic poses a pressing challenge to our food system. As such, there is serious need for global community to act and ensure that the health crisis does not transform into a poverty and hunger crisis.
The Mirian Pat Foundation in her goal to mitigate the effect of Covid- 19th conducted and reached to Gossa community with aim to sensitize the people on the need for subsistence farming to cushion the effect of Covid – 19, and also fed 250 persons in the community. MPF also aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goal N0 1 and 2 which says, No Poverty and Zero Hunger respectively.
