A call has gone out to the federal and state governments to find a lasting solution to the plight of the negligence, the unemployed and the less privileged in the society especially the Widows.
The Mirian Pat Foundation in collaboration with the Olumobi foundation made the call at a 1-day interactive session with widows in gwarinpa, Abuja Nigeria nd expressed sadness at the plight of the widows who are left to live in abject poverty with the death of their husbands.
The foundation observed that some widows who didn’t have any kind of skills suffered more with the passing of their husbands because, it could be difficult starting all over. Many of the widows at the event lamented that it was difficult for them to pay rent, take care of their children, pay school fees or even feed their household with the biting economy. Mirian and the aforementioned foundation called on the widows to forget the past and look towards a brighter future to make their life better.

So many widows attended the 1day interactive session and they expressed the hope that help will come from well-meaning Nigerians to help them start small businesses to cater for themselves and their children. The foundation carried out a skill acquisition training for the women, where they are been thought how to make liquid soap to market and make ends meet. Wrappers and staple food were also distributed to these women to help them sustain their immediate needs. The widows were filled with joy and gratitude for all their kind gestures towards them and the foundation hope to do more for them if they will get more support from other corporate bodies.

Irresponsive of the different lament from the widows,the foundation is calling on corporate bodies and individuals to help in terms of donation and sponsorship because, this women have nowhere else to turn to.
