THE STORY OF THE 12YEARS OLD BASHIRU UMARU

Bashiru Umaru is a 12years old boy living with disability. The young lad is suffering from poliomyelitis (polio) leaving his two legs paralyzed which is why he could not walk. Bashiru Umaru was found helplessly on the street crawling around for survival.

The 12years old boy was abandoned by his parent and left to his faith. Bashiru Umaru has been alone from a very tender age, no shelter, food or cloths but the poor boy has managed to survive. Imagine how life must have been for him in his condition.

Bashiru Umaru was in a hypercritical condition before Mirian Pat Foundation found him and came to his aid.

Not only that Bashiru Umaru cannot walk with his legs but also his body is full of rashes and boils bringing out pores and he is also stooling.

The MPF has been well known for her humanitarian work in the past, this reacting out to people in different needs and touching lives in different ways to make our society and better place to live. Bashiru Umaru was taking to the hospital (Bwari General Hospital) for treatment where series of test were carried out on the boy. The doctor made some diagnosis and the boy was checked in for treatment.

Child abandonment is the practice of relinquishing interests and claims over one’s offspring in an extralegal way with the intent of never again resuming or reasserting guardianship over them.

POSSIBLE EFFECT ON AN ABANDONED CHILD

  • Possibility of experiencing abuse and neglect in institutionalized care.
  • Low self-esteem stemming from feelings of guilt about being at fault for being abandoned.
  • Separation anxiety: feeling of anxiety about being separated from parents or caregivers.
  • Attachment issues: difficulty becoming emotionally attached to and trusting other people.
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder

Bashiru Umaru is just an innocent boy and does not deserve this suffering. At Mirian Pat Foundation, we care and privileged to put an end to his suffering.

Say no to child abuse, support the PWDs and make the world a better place.
