INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RURAL WOMEN
Rural women and girls play a significant role in agriculture, food security and nutrition, land and natural resource management and unpaid domestic care work.
International Day of Rural Women was celebrated on the 15th October, by Mirian Pat Foundation in collaboration with DO, BLUE DIAMOND MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD and LAJA ENTERPRISES LIMITED carrying out a talk/ sensitization on with the theme “RURAL WOMEN AND GIRLS BUILDING CLIMATE RESISTANCE” in Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory.
Mirian Pat Foundation in collaboration with DO, BLUE DIAMOND MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD and LAJA ENTERPRISES LIMITE emphasized the need for genuine participation of rural women and girls in the fight against climate change and their role in building a climate resistant world to ensure increase in agricultural productivity, food security, reduce poverty, promote healthy living and checkmate flooding, droughts and other natural disasters caused by human activities which plaque our world at large.
