International Women’s Day is celebrated across the world to pay honor to the great women of the society. A day set aside to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history of their countries/communities.
Most people still feel that women should be confined to household chores and not step out for work, as that shouldn’t be practiced in today’s society. Women are perfect entities to be celebrated and have got equal potential provided they are been trusted and valued. However today’s women realizes their strengths and abilities and step out in order to contribute to the society and the world at large.
The Mirian Pat Foundation celebrated the 2019 International Women’s Day with the women of Bwari Area Council FCT Abuja, to celebrate the struggle for women’s rights in the economic, social, political and cultural domain, to reaffirm women’s solidarity in the struggle for peace, to encourage them to cherish the blessings of being a woman.
Empowering women is very necessary for bringing gender equality hence the reason the foundation taught it wise to also help them learn a skill, because societies flourishes well where women are given equal respect and are not taken for granted. The feminine creature is seen as a symbol of utmost affection that not only leads the perfect life for herself but also the strongest base for others.
